POSTPONED Lenin 150 Commemoration: Are Lenin's Ideas on Revolution still relevant today?

David Lane will examine Lenin’s role in carrying forward the revolutionary essence of Marx's work in the period of the second international and his legacy as founder of the first Socialist state.

 

This will be followed by a reception and the opportunity to visit the office where Lenin worked while he was in exile in London during the period 1902-3 editing ISKRA, the Spark.

Platform Films will bring the afternoon to a conclusion with the screening of the 1977 biographical film ‘Pages from a Great Life’.

 

David Lane is Emeritus Reader in Sociology, Emeritus Fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He has published widely on the history of the Soviet Union.
