Democracy, Neo-Liberalism and Britain’s centralised state

Join Baroness Pauline Bryan for this timely round table discussion on the challenges of progressive federalism and labour movement mobilisation.

Email: library@marx-memorial-library.org.uk

In the aftermath of the legislative elections in English Regions and in Scotland and Wales, the Round Table brings together leading figures on the Left to discuss how to maintain the political cohesion of our working class movement - and how to challenge the centralist policies exercised by the Johnson government exercised on behalf of the biggest of big businesses.

The panel will be chaired by Baroness Pauline Bryan. Speakers include Sean Griffin, author of report on Britain's constitution commissioned by the Labour Party in 2018, Andrew Murray who has written widely on the issue of how to challenge capitalist state power in Britain, Jamie Driscoll, North of Tyne Mayor, and Beth Winter, Member of Parliament for Cynon Valley.
