About the Role

The Admin and Communications Assistant will play a central role supporting our Administrator and our Library Manager and contributing, in particular, to IT based work. The volunteer will be at the heart of a friendly, dynamic team working in an office environment. They will be highly organised, have good time management skills and attention to detail. The volunteer will have experience using IT programmes and will be provided with social media induction if necessary. This is an opportunity to develop skills; the role-holder will be referred to training by Islington as appropriate. The volunteer will report directly to both members of staff at MML – the Administrator and the Archivist & Library Manager and will be based at MML, 37a Clerkenwell Green, London, EC1R 0DU

Tasks and Responsibilities

Updating and developing our contact and mailing list database, entering details for those
Compiling statistics on the use of the library including visitor numbers
Updating and editing content on our website and social media platforms, including details of events
Assisting with merchandise and other mail-outs, packing items for postage and monitoring stock levels
Assisting in event promotion on social media, and through contact with press and sister organisations
Assisting in promoting fundraising campaigns on social media and our website
Assisting with other office duties, including shelving books, sorting merchandise on shelves and tidying at the end of the day

Personal Specification

Essential:

Good organisation skills
Highly motivated
Experience working in other admin roles
Good IT skills; accustomed to word-processing and using windows applications
Experience working with databases and websites
Comfortable using the internet
Desirable:

Experience fundraising and event organising
Experience using social media
