Body:

A sketch of Sylvia Pankhurst commissioned by the Marx Memorial Library and Workers' School.

Sylvia Pankhurst (1882–1960) was a British suffragette, socialist, and anti-fascist campaigner. The daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, she played a key role in the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) but later broke away due to its autocratic leadership and focus on upper-class women. She founded the East London Federation of Suffragettes, advocating for working-class women's rights. A committed socialist, she opposed World War I, campaigned for social justice, and later became an anti-fascist and supporter of Ethiopian independence. She spent her later years in Ethiopia, where she died in 1960.

Proceeds from this design help to fund the work of the Marx Memorial Library and Workers' School.
