MML Online Course - Capitalism, Crisis and Imperialism

This course will start with an introductory session on Tuesday 21 April 2026 at 7pm.

It is the successor class to Marxist Economics for Beginners (there is no obligation to have taken the previous course and the relevant materials will be made available).

The course begins with Lenin on Imperialism and examines how monopoly has intensified the economic, political and social crises of capitalist society over the past century.

There are four classes with online materials provided and with live Zoom tutorials that are based on student input.

· Lenin’s Imperialism

· The first global crisis of imperialism: the 1930s

· Post-1945 monopolisation and Keynes

· The crises of the 21st century and the philosophers of neoliberalism

You can participate from wherever you live. The materials are supplied via Moodle and the tutorial sessions are via zoom.

The Zoom sessions will take place on the following dates, all at 7pm:

Tue 21 April - introductory session; Tue 5 May; Tue 19 May; Tue 2 June; Tue 16 June
