A sketch of Lenin commissioned by the Marx Memorial Library and Workers' School.

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870–1924) was a Russian revolutionary, political theorist, and leader of the Bolshevik Party. He played a key role in the 1917 Russian Revolution, leading to the overthrow of the Provisional Government and the establishment of Soviet rule. As the first leader of the Soviet Union, he implemented socialist policies, nationalized industry, and withdrew Russia from World War I. His ideas, known as Leninism, shaped communist movements worldwide. Lenin’s health declined after a series of strokes, and he died in 1924, leaving a lasting impact on global politics.

Proceeds from this design help to fund the work of the Marx Memorial Library and Workers' School.
