INESSA ARMAND
Armand was born in Paris, but lived in Moscow from the age of 5. She was a socialist feminist, one of the joint editors of ‘Rabotnitsa’ and a close friend of Lenin and Krupskaya. After the October revolution she was the director of Zhenotdel and in 1920 she chaired the First Conference of Communist Women.
